Our Pregnancy Announcement!! (PHOTOS)

Hi everyone!!! We announced we were expecting on social media right around the 16 week mark. I was so so excited to announce the news but still wanted to be very cautious on announcing it too soon.
All of our close family and friends knew already, but it was super fun to tell everyone else.
I wanted to share our little photo-shoot with you today on the blog.
We did our photos at one of our favorite places on earth: Disneyland!
Really, it was any excuse to visit Los Angeles and Will and I both love Disneyland so much. We thought it would be very fitting for us.

Will and I flew into LA Friday evening and stayed at my friend Alicia's house. The next morning we woke up SO early (like 5:30am) so we could get ready and drive to Anaheim to try to get into the park before it got super crowded.

My friend Shayda and her husband met us at Disneyland because they live about an hour away. She's an amazing photographer and I asked if she would be willing to take our photos for us. It was a perfect excuse to spend time together and get our photos done.

We arrived at Disney bright and early and the first thing we did was pop into one of their shops to get baby Mickey ears engraved. We had them stitch "Baby Cornelius" on the back of the ears.

Once we were done we took photos all over the place! On Main Street, on the train, at the entrance and of course, in front of the castle. I remember standing with Will in front of the castle taking pictures holding the ultrasound and a group of girls walked by and said "Awww! Oh my gosh! She's pregnant! How fun!" and I grinned from ear to ear.

This was the photo we officially went with as our announcement:

I was a champ being 15 weeks pregnant and spending all day at Disneyland. By the end of the day I could barely walk and had a bit of a melt down. haha But all in all it was a really fun time and a day I will never, ever forget.

The First Trimester Recap

I am officially 13 weeks pregnant and out of the first trimester!!

I honestly feel such a sense of relief knowing I'm out of the first trimester. Even though I am not totally out of the woods yet, of course, the percentage of having a miscarriage goes down significantly after 13 weeks.

I wish I had more advice/tips/crazy stories to report and please don't hate on me for it, but I had a pretty easy first trimester. I didnt get any nausea except for one time, I didnt have any morning sickness and I wasn't overly tired. Super weiiiird, I know. When people would ask me how I was feeling all I could say was "my breasts feel heavy." haha Seriously! That was the only part of my body that felt different to me. It was like each of my boobs gained a couple pounds. It was weird. This is probably what it means when women say they get pregnant and can tell right away in their breasts.

Next step: take our pregnancy announcement photos. I'm very excited for what we have planned. Stay tuned to see! :)

Waiting For Your 7 Week Pregnancy Appointment

I'm sure any mamas out there will tell you how hard the first 7 weeks of pregnancy is. At least it was for me. And only because I was SO anxious to go to the doctor and make sure baby was alive and well.
It's so exciting when you find out you're pregnant! You read the positive pregnancy test, you go and do the blood work, and the doctor calls you to confirm: "Yup! You sure are pregnant!"
But then you have to wait 7 WEEKS (usually) to go see your doctor and have an ultrasound done.

My best advice during this waiting period is to keep yourself VERY distracted. Because even when you're distracted, you're still going to be thinking of that new baby in your belly.
I was lucky enough to go visit my best friend Emily the weekend before my doctor's appointment. And that helped SO much. If I was sitting at home all weekend leading up to that appointment I would have gone crazy. Surrounding yourself with friends or family, or doing any sort of activity to take your mind off of waiting is great.
Go see a movie! Make brunch, lunch and dinner plans! Anything will help.

I remember googling "waiting for your 7 week appointment is so hard."  or something like that, and I felt so much relief reading forums of other pregnant women having the same feelings I was. It's not always a good idea to turn to the internet and google questions you may have, but in this case it really helped!

When Will and I finally got to go to the doctor at 7 weeks I was so nervous and SO excited. It all became real when the doctor did the ultrasound and we looked up at the little white dot of a baby on the screen and knew so far he/she was healthy.

If you happen to be a first time mom reading this and you are going through the same waiting period all I can say is don't worry! All those fears, thoughts and anxiousness is completely normal.

Back to doing my Friday posts everyone! It's been awhile but I swear I am getting back on track!

This weekend I actually have a few things on the agenda. Friday night we're going to see Avengers Infiniti War with some friends, Saturday I'm getting a mani/pedi and meeting with a T-shirt company to try to get some T-Shirts printed for the TAYLOR SWIFT CONCERT IN TWO WEEKS! And Sunday I have a sorority alum bbq and meeting right after.

Saturday is also Cinco De Mayo! So if you are celebrating I am very jealous. I wish I could drink all the tequila but this year I will be sitting this one out. Order a margarita for me!

Hope you all have a great weekend!! What do you have planned??
